Today we bring Mezcal, Overproof rum (Lemon Hart 151) along with some juices and passion fruit syrup. We create a cocktail submitted by “The Curd” (Curtis McMillan) to produce a smokey little number.
Ian’s not a fan of smoke and Dan seems to be meh about it as well, but Derrick loves the flavor profile. The one thing we’re all pretty much sure of? The lack of any apple in the taste but no doubt had it gone missing the flavors would have come through weak and unbalanced in some way.
For this, we chose Montelobos Mezcal, but you can choose your own personal favorite.

– 1 oz. Mezcal
– 1/2 oz. Lemon Hart 151
– 1/2 oz. Apple Juice
– 1/4 oz. B.G. Reynolds Passion Fruit Syrup
– 1/2 oz. fresh lime juice
– 2 dashes Aphrodite Bitters
– 2 dashes cocktail saline (3 parts water to 1 part salt)
