Don the Beachcomber’s Mai Tai, The Original

Tasting Notes: A more “sour” Mai Tai alternative (or original) that brings a huge round of flavorful particles of awesome to your face. Nice potency balanced against a grapefruit bite, a mild falernum mid-palate and a comprehensive roller coaster of flavors in the finish. You may confuse the tartness for potency if you’re not careful.

The historically accurate version of Don the Beachcomber’s recipe, the Mai Tai. This cocktail tastes much different than other Mai Tai variants and will probably pair great with food. You’ll find this cocktail within the confines of Don the Beachcomber’s recipe book, the last grasp effort to establish his legendary designs into the archives of history.

Stuff all that craziness into a KOG Tiki mug and get all steampunk.

Drink Responsibly.

Get all steampunk? Uh..nope. I’ll stick with tiki. BTW, Don did not stick with this recipe for very long, adapting to orgeat and a flavor more compatible to Trader Vic’s more popular Mai Tai.
