Adam Elmegirab Bitters: Four Centuries Cocktail vs. The Sheffield

Round two of our cocktail fight night, today we’re bringing together the Four Centuries Cocktail agains that of the Sheffield cocktail. The two cocktails, while utilizing AppleJack, where designed completely differently and their visions bring two different taste sensations for two different moods or styles of people.

While the Four Centuries cocktail reminded me of something that brought an aged rum to my palate, the sheffield cocktail was more of a gentlemen’s poker night style of drink. Sometimes, sitting around the poker table with your cocktail, you’re looking for something a bit shocking, perhaps something that drinks slower (less sweet) so that one doesn’t lose their concentration of focus from too much spirit, but something that does take the edge off your game. I can see poker night with a drink being a great staging point for The Sheffield.

Yet, the Four Centuries cocktail would work great when sitting around the table chatting with friends in a casual manner, playing with different cocktail creations and enjoying the complexities and subtle hints of sweetness of the Four Centuries. Again, our contest takes Adam Elmegirab bitters and creates a classic cocktail creation from them, this time focusing on Spanish Biters against the Dandelion & Burdock bitters.
