Jose Cuervo Tradicional Review

Today we take a look at Jose Cuervo Tradicional in our review because, let’s face it, the traditional “Especial” aka “Cuervo Gold” is just so bad. What makes this silver tequila by Jose Cuervo better than their standard 51% agave silver mixto? Well, their traditional version labeled “Tradicional” is 100% de Agave and we picked it up for $19.99.

Initially, the aroma definitely brings lots of agave action that is very pleasing on the nose. A bit of sweetness comes off the nose so it makes you just wonder how awesome it could taste. Tasting Jose Cuervo Tradicional felt like we were tasting any other real silver tequila as standards go with hints of white pepper spiciness with a pretty darn smooth mouthfeel.

While we can compare it to “gold” and even Sauza Hornitos (which is actually 100% de agave) and the smoothness and crisp taste of Jose Cuervo Tradicional was fairly amazing for your dollar. For instance, you can buy Patron for nearly $40+ or spend half for Tradicional and gain a much better experience, a much more interesting aroma and a great overall spice bite with muted citrus–so different than the vodka of tequila (aka Patron).

Aside from their fairly low-grade brand naming, Jose Cuervo Tradicional is a very respectful silver tequila at an affordable price, we highly recommend you give it a try.
