Greenhook Ginsmiths Gin Review

Tasting Notes: Juniper meets camomile which quickly rolls into elderflower and finishes back up with juniper. The mouth feel is a bit light, crisp and even five minutes later I’m still tasting camomile and elderflower.

Greenhook Ginsmiths introduces a new product to the market, birthed in Brooklyn New York. An American Dry Gin with the tasting notes suggesting camomile, elderflower, citrus, cinnamon, coriander and a few others. I was only able to get the major notes but I’m sure with a longer tasting in front of the TV while enjoying my beverage I would being to get a greater understanding for some of the more subtle notes.

This american dry gin brings great floral aromas which reminds me of the more costly G’Vine product, but at half the cost. While it won’t bring all the intense complexities of a USD $60 gin, it brings a respectable upper class appeal with great flowery notes for around USD $30 and that’s something you can’t really beat.

For under forty bones, it’s going to be tough to beat the Greenhook Ginsmiths offering, at least in the United States. My guess is we’re getting a better price on a quality product because it’s made here at home and doesn’t require importing from another country. Those higher end products (such as France’s G’Vine) should look hard and strong at this competitor because its bringing high value at a lower cost.
