How To Make The Vampiro 🧛 Tequila Drink Month

Today we’re going to show you how to make the vampiro, a pretty interesting tequila drink / cocktail made with orange juice and… tomato juice?

The Vampiro cocktail:

Buy Grenadine:

The Vampiro was said to have been created by Oscar Hernandez 50 years ago…says Oscar Hernandez himself. He originally prepared the “cocktail” to keep himself cool in the heat but his customers started asking what they were and requesting them.” So, he called the drink a vampiro.

You see, Oscar is a fruit vendor in the village of San Luis Soyatlan and he was giving them away to customers at their request hoping to draw in more attention to his fruit stand. He used them to get his regulars to come back for fruit and…maybe a vampiro.

Enter Dan, he walks into this with the perception (based on past experience) that sweet and tomato don’t work well together. And, he’s not surprised when the taste profile meets his expectations…he’s not a fan.

You’ll have to be okay with a sweet profile in a tomato juice in order to find solace in the Vampiro design. Perhaps it’s best in warm weather or by a certain type of person.
