The Naked & Famous is a mezcal cocktail, but how does it fair when you use a $100 bottle of Mezcal instead of a $40 bottle? Is it that much better, or is it actually worse as we’ve found with so many other cocktails. We explore this with Montelobos Tobala against their standard Espadín variety to find the differences. Here is our Tobala review if you want to know more about this $100 mezcal: https://youtu.be/TohqSiOOW6E
The Naked & Famous
0.75 oz Mezcal
0.75 oz Aperol
0.75 oz Yellow Chartreuse
0.75 oz Fresh grapefruit juice
This drink brings some bitter, with the use of Aperol, but won’t be as bitter as a campari drink, however, you’ll find that the overall cost of this cocktail isn’t cheap. All the ingredients besides the grapefruit juice are fairly costly.
Overall, however, the drink holds it’s own no matter what brand of mezcal you’re using, but you’re probably going to want to like a smokey cocktail before dipping into these waters.
