Video Game Cocktails: Dead Island Iced Tea

This is a very potent yet tasty cocktail based off the “Dead Island” game series. I call it the “Dead Island Iced Tea”. Warning though, given that this drink uses both 151 and Everclear, its not advisable to exceed the 1/2 oz. measurement.

  • 1/2 oz. Everclear
  • 1/2 oz. Bacardi 151
  • 1/2 oz. Gin
  • 1/2 oz. Triple Sec
  • 1/2 oz. Tequila
  • 1/2 oz. Melon Liqueur
  • 2 oz. Sweet & Sour
  • Splash of Sprite
  • Blood orange

In a Collins glass with ice add sweet & sour mix and all liqueur except the melon liqueur and stir well. Slowly add the Melon Liqueur to the glass and top with Sprite. Then take half the blood orange and squeeze the juice into the glass then add a slice of the blood orange to the rim for a garnish. If done correctly, the blood orange juice should resemble blood down the glass and the pulp looks like coagulated blood. The main concept of this drink is to symbolize the zombie apocalypse described in the game with the green part of the drink symbolizing the decay process and the coagulated blood showing more of the zombification process.
