Tasting Notes: Light on complexity, definitely brings some fortified wine flavor but overall not too over-dry or “wine like” considering the components.
The bamboo cocktail, a classic early cocktail from before prohibition. We are taking one for the team in this cocktail because it contains two primary ingredients that we are not huge fans of: sherry and vermouth.
It seems to be lacking in complexity but it does fit the classic design. We think it might just be a bit better with a secondary flavor component.
Recipe
- 1 1/2 oz. Dry Vermouth
- 1 1/2 oz. Dry Sherry
- 1 Dash Aromatic Bitters
- 1 Dash Orange Bitters

February 14, 2014 at 11:34 pmThank you for introducing the bamboo cocktail. I like Dry Sherry and Dry Vermouth and never thought of combining them with the bitters. The history also makes the cocktail very fun.
