Manhanttan Deconstruction / Six Whiskeys

We take six whiskey’s and deconstruct the manhattan. To make sure we cover all the options, we also include a white whiskey (white dog) and a Canadian whiskey (for those days of prohibition).

The whiskey options include Wigle Rye, Jim Beam Bourbon, Canadian Club 12, Jameson Irish Whiskey, Ole’ Smoky Moonshine and Alberta Rye.

We did not use Scotch as that’s a separate drink “by name” so we varied up the regions to include bourbon country, rye commonly used in a manhattan along side a Canadian variant on rye. The white dog was really to see how it would play out given it’s still a whiskey. Of course, Ian loves Jameson so we needed to see how that would play with the Vya Vermouth as well.

The Manhattan
1 3/4 oz. Whiskey (Rye), 3/4 oz. Sweet Vermouth, 1 Dash Angostura Bitters
