Today we’re going to show you how to make the pearl harbor cocktail, we will create it twice: once as a normal pearl harbor drink and once with cherry bitters. Then we’ll work the original with rhubarb bitters to see what is the best flavor profile.

Spoiler alert, bitters make this drink so much more interesting. The Pearl Harbor cocktail is a fine vodka cocktail with midori but it’s kicked up to a new degree with the use of bitters. Out of both cocktail bitters we used (both from Fee Brothers) the rhubarb was the most interesting of flavor combination.
The cocktail bitters we use tend to work great in vodka drinks and gin based cocktails but cherry bitters in a bourbon drink isn’t anything bad either!
The Pearl Harbor Drink
– 2 oz Vodka
– 1 oz Melon Liqueur
– 5 oz Pineapple Juice (top)
– Maraschino Cherry / Pineapple Wedge / Lemon Wedge
The pearl harbor cocktail is named for its use of pineapple juice (from Hawaii) and the color of the ocean waters around Pearl Harbor (a greenish yellow near the shores). There probably isn’t a rich history for the pearl harbor drink but it’s a fine vodka cocktail that’s worth trying. Plus, it gives you a use for midori outside of a basic midori sour.
