Today we take a look at Gaur Spice Whiskey, it’s a spiced whiskey with what we thought would be more holiday spices based on what we found on the label…but, it wasn’t all just holiday flavors. This comes closer, as an analogy, would be like taking an aged rum and building a spiced rum out of it.
Nice island spices containing Cinnamon, Ginger, Clove and Nutmeg. These spices blend well together and they do not overtake the whiskey which would have been quite easy for them to do considering how clove can over-take pretty much any liquid on the planet. However, Blend No. 1 does not come off as overly potent with spiced flavor, it’s more of a gentle spice.
This is a product that can be sipped over ice, perhaps in an eggnog. You can build a cocktail out of it, but you probably couldn’t just substitute Gaur Spice Whiskey for a drink that calls for straight up whiskey, but who knows, we’ll have to play with it to find out for sure.
Gaur Spice isn’t just another clone of a fireball creation, it’s not overly sweet (nor does it contain too much cinnamon) and even the ginger is muted and blended in without being overly too spicy.
Interesting product, we’d love to see a Blend No. 2 someday!
