Baseball Cocktail Recipes from Tommy Bahama Rum

tommy-bahama-golden-sunYankee fan or not – there is no debating that there was mo’ to the 2009 New York Yankees than just a new stadium!
Tommy Bahama Rum toasts the Bronx Bombers making it to the postseason with the fall drinks below, named after the season’s highlights and the more memorable moments.

The Sox on the Rocks – August 6th, 2009 began the 4 game series where the Yankees swept the Red Sox to shove Boston six and a half games out of first place in the American League East.

  • 1 ½ parts Tommy Bahama White Sand Rum
  • ¾ part JC Apple Cognac
  • ½ part Apple Puree
  • ¼ part Sweet Vermouth

Shake ingredients over ice and pour into a chilled glass – Garnish with an apple to show NY is on top.

K-Rod Krush – named for the season’s most talked about Yankee couple

  • 1 ½ parts Tommy Bahama Golden Sun
  • ¾ part fresh lime juice
  • 1 parts simple syrup
  • 6 fresh mint leaves
  • 2 dashes angostura bitters
  • 1 part Prosecco

Muddle mint with lime juice and simple syrup into a mixing glass. Add Golden Sun Rum and bitters and shake over ice. Top with Prosecco to make sure the relationship doesn’t fall flat.

Pie in Your Eye – This season, high five’s are a thing of the past. Now after a walk-off win, the game’s hero gets a pie to the face right before the MVP gets interviewed for a post-game report.

  • 1 ½ parts Tommy Bahama White Sand Rum
  • ½ part Sour Apple Schnapps
  • Drop of Half and Half
  • Graham Cracker Rimmer
  • Whipped Cream
  • Granny Smith Apple Slice
  • Cinnamon and Nutmeg powder

Shake White Sand Rum, sour apple schnapps and half and half in a shaker with ice. Strain into a chilled glass rimmed with graham cracker crumbs. Garnish with whipped cream and a slice of granny smith apple. Sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg.

Mo than 500 – On June 28, 2009, the Yanks closer became only the second pitcher ever to break the 500 save mark, making him one of the best closers of all time.

  • 2 parts Tommy Bahama Golden Sun Rum
  • 1 part Maple Syrup
  • 2 dashes Angostura Bitters

Shake ingredients over ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with an orange twist for mo flavor.

  • 2 parts Tommy Bahama Golden Sun Rum
  • 1 part Hazelnut Liqueur
  • 1 pinch Cinnamon Powder
  • 1 Cinnamon Stick

Shake Golden Sun Rum and hazelnut liqueur over ice and strain into a glass. Sprinkle with cinnamon and garnish with a bat (or stick) of cinnamon.

Playoff Punch – On September 22, 2009 the Yankees beat the Angels and secured their place in the 2009 Post Season.

  • 2/3 parts Tommy Bahama Golden Sun Rum
  • 1 Part Tommy Bahama White Sand Rum
  • 1/3 part premium Orange Liqueur
  • 1 ¾ parts Pineapple Juice
  • ½ lime
  • 1 ¾ parts Orange Juice
  • 2 dashes Grenadine

Pour all ingredients except Tommy Bahama Golden Sun rum into a shaker with ice. Shake sharply. Pour into a glass filled with ice. Carefully float the dark rum on top.
