Here is our little review of Glacier Vodka, a potato vodka made in the United States. You can checkout their website for all the details on the brand. Our review focuses on the liquid itself and Glacier Vodka brings with it a lightly sweet flavor profile with a crisp finish that leaves no residual ugliness in its finish. It’s pure, simple and self-explanatory–just try it and see.
What truly makes Glacier Vodka stand out amongst the other bazillon and a quarter “Ultra Premium” vodka’s comes down to the distillate. You can find other crisp finishing vodkas with other subtle unique flavor profiles but the chances are good, most of those vodka brands are competing for the best grain based vodka and that keeps their core very much like one another.
Those vodka’s that are starting to stand out are those that have new subtle flavor profiles, grape distilled vodka (Ciroc for instance), potato vodkas and a few others. A good example, what would you say if you taste a beet distilled vodka? Who knows, but would you really want to know? I would.
The lesson here, it’s time to break out comfort zone and try variants upon the old standards. Potato vodka’s are not new to the world, but they’ve been forgotten of late, it’s time to remember.
