Today we taste test sipsmith gin, a London Dry gin that actually comes out of London. We take a look into the flavor profile, review the tasting notes and make suggestions on where this might work in a cocktail.

We originally purchased Sipsmith gin for our Craft Cocktail channel as we were doing the 15 easy gin cocktail series. We had a few fans suggest sipsmith to us as a worthy gin and doing some quick reviews online didn’t show us any red flags.
To us, Sipsmith Gin has a great camp-like flavor profile, earthy mineral with maple, pine sap and back woods flavor. Where sipsmith really shines is in the lack of juniper-heavy bite and a bit less cardamom/eucalyptus notes that you’ll find in a lot of other gin brands.
It’s clear Sipsmith wants to stand out on its own as a London Dry by staying traditional on flavor and pine but without the chemical-cleaner some folks detect from a more well-worthy experience.
We found sipsmith gin online in the mid-$30 range, which isn’t too bad for a gin and much less than Hendricks.
