Tasting Notes: A pretty potent little shooter, especially with 99-Banana’s which is a bit more striking in alcohol than that of a typical liqueur. The finish has a bit of a fennel flavor with some bonus sweetness of the honey. The honey is not as obvious as the fennel banana with cinnamon bite in the attack.
Oh yeah, come here you rotten banana, you bad boy! This recipe isn’t as rotten as you’d think, from the color. I was expecting a lot more honey bourbon because it’s one of the three ingredients but the banana attack with a hint of sweetness really begins the trip which only ends with a big of the standard jager fennel finish–no real honey bourbon appeal. The honey lends a bit of sweet but not the bourbon oak I thought I was going to get from this!
Recipe:
- 1 oz. Banana Liqueur
- 1/4 oz. Jagermeister
- 1/4 oz. Honey Whiskey
- 4 oz. Lemon/Lime Soda (e.g. 7UP)
