Unencucumbered by Difficulty | Islay Scotch Cocktail?

Today we are making a cocktail Dan found on instagram called the Unencucumbered by Difficulty. We also find out Dan is a fan of Islay Scotch…who knew!?

We finally discover a drink that we can’t quite describe from a flavor profile perspective. It’s not often this type of activity occurs, but when you bring gin and islay scotch together with some fresh veggies you get something new and unique.

We got some lemon juice for sour in this cocktail, which does pair well with gin, in this case aged gin (or Old Tom gin).

Unencucumbered by Difficulty
* 1.5 oz Aged Gin
* 0.25 oz Islay Scotch (we use Laphroaig)
* 0.75 oz Braulio Amaro (we use Montenegro)
* 0.75 oz Lemon Juice
* Barspoon Rich Simple Syrup
* Dash Saline (20%)
* Mini Cucumber (or like, 1-2 inches of regular cucumber)
* Mint

You a fan of Islay Scotch? You love the bandaid flavor profile? Or, as Dan says “I don’t know what to do with this” when tasting it. The flavor is hard to describe, but perhaps it doesn’t have enough up-front flavor that it makes it clearly easy to define?
