A bit of Usquaebach blended scotch whiskey, some vermouth and bitters and you’re on your way to a classic cocktail: The Rob Roy. This is a scotch cocktail, something there are not too many of in todays cocktail designs. This is a bit more of a classic martini design complete with sweet vermouth, bitters and distilled spirit (in this case scotch.)
The Rob Roy is a cocktail created in 1894 by a bartender at the Waldorf Astoria in Manhattan, New York City.
The cocktail build fits all the “basic cocktail” checks and it tastes like it, definitely brings some vermouth flavor into your mouth as we continue using our Vya Vermouth in sweet form.
You’ll want to appreciate the more spirit-forward flavors and that of a fortified sweet wine to love this!
