The Aperol Sour | Maybe our new favorite drink?

Today we are making the Aperol Sour, which is a riff off the classic sour recipe but with a bitter liqueur. We loved it, here is the recipe: https://bit.ly/4eNQrOl

The Aperol Sour brings a nice citrus fruitiness with a dry finish and has that mild bitter bite in the finish. Unlike a campari drink, the Aperol sour brings that sour bitter without being overbearing for the average drinker.

Historically speaking a “sour” is basically a sweet component with a sour component (lemon or lime depending on which pairs best with the spirit) and a core spirit. The only difference with the Aperol Sour is that the liqueur, Aperol, has a sweet counterbalance on the bitter so we don’t need to bring as much sugar to the cocktail recipe.

Aperol Sour
* 2 oz Aperol
* 3/4 oz fresh lemon juice
* 1/2 oz simple syrup
