Tasting Notes: Rich sweet pineapple juice, cherry, brown sugar and flavorful herbal citrus. Super mild gin flavor.
A big recipe with history behind it and a flavor of awesome sauce. The famous singapore sling has a good legacy and good flavor. These combined flavors are super smooth and complex which reflects that of a perfect polynesian style cocktail. Imagine a polynesian cocktail that doesn’t give you the sense of alcohol and you’ve got the singapore sling.
The history is mixed and muddled (pun intended), I’d check Drinkboy.com for the best up-to-date detail on the rich history. I say, to hell with history, enjoy it for its complex flavors and great cocktail design.

May 16, 2012 at 3:19 pmI’ve been hearing of Singapore sling for years but I never had one, do you think I can replace Benedictine for something else ? Summer is coming, welcome back Polynesian drinks 🙂 I often heard those tiki drinks are gay or girly, cause of the color, garnish and flavors, which make me laugh, there’s way more alcohol in a zombie than in a light beer 😉
Hey, that would be a good question of the day for another episode, don’t you think ? Are mixed drinks girly ? I just googled that, there’s many people questioning their sexuality cause they once had a mojito at a bar 😀

June 3, 2014 at 10:57 pmCherry Heering is their recipe for a cherry liqueur, sherry brandy is probably just brandy casked in sherry casks.
Q2: I only do a singapore sling with cheery heering as that’s what it calls for 🙂
