Today we create a cocktail sister to the Negroni, known as the Americano. Of course, the two myths to the history of the cocktail is that it was named for the fact that it’s got an “amaro” (bitter) others say it was because it was so popular with Americans.
No matter what the name means it’s clear that this drink is a bit easier on the palate than the Negroni, the club soda smooths out the flavor and gives you a bit less bitter bite and a little more tart berry flavor.
