A question I get from time to time, is it safe to freeze alcohol? What percentage of alcohol will freeze and what will stay liquid? These are good questions, now… let us freeze some schnapps!
Remember the more sugar you have in your liquid the better chance it will be for it to freeze, so schnapps may get a bit more slushy than something with more alcohol and less sugar. The problem is, I’ve not found a lot of alcohol brands that list their sugar content (since it’s alcohol, you don’t have to list your “nutrition facts”) so there may be some guess work. However, it’s safe to say that the higher alcohol content the better chance the spirit won’t freeze.
