Tasting Notes: A strong bourbon focus from the start which leads to a mid-palate of sweet vermouth and the classic off-dry finish that lingers with wine-like vermouth flavor. An off-sweet start with an off-dry finish, you really must appreciate the flavor of vermouth to like this cocktail.
For my review, I used Four Roses Single Barrel (the DrinkUPNY signature label) and it really shined through the initial attack.. This cocktail brings some sweet to the classic yet still echo’s the vermouth build up that makes this a manhattan. Again, not a fan of vermouth then you’ll probably find the finish off-putting.
