The Sloe Gin Fizz came into existence in the mid-1900’s shows itself as a classic cocktail. Beautiful color, potent berry taste and falls right in the middle of sweet and sour. While you can taste a little lemon it’s not harsh or bitter as it’s balanced against equal simple syrup.
This is, by far, the best way to present a cocktail drinker to the heavenly Sloe Gin. Once you have a Sloe Gin Fizz you’ll want to go get yourself another. Just be careful!

February 21, 2009 at 12:32 amActually, sloe gin isn’t gin at all, it’s more of a berry-style alcohol, Blackthorn berries I believe — sorta like a plum. I think their supposed to be infused with gin but you really don’t get the classic gin taste from it at all. I think you can really infuse it with any grain/alcohol you want.

December 9, 2011 at 3:02 pmSloe Gin is supposed to be the sloe berries marinated in gin. But it really states nothing like gin, it’s a very fruity liquer.
