The black manhattan is a variation of a standard manhattan often made with Averna Amaro, but we used a different recipe which called for Amaro Nonino.
We used a Rye Whiskey for our Black Manhattan, we found the Amaro Nonino was a bit subtle and delicate where our typical black manhattan is more bold and powerful. It feels more like the bold power makes a Black Manhattan a bit more interesting, but Nonino works too!
– 2 oz bourbon or rye whiskey
– 1 oz Amaro Nonino
– 1 dash Angostura bitters
– 1 dash orange bitters
– For the garnish: Cocktail cherry or Luxardo cherry
