The 8:2:1 Ratio, David Embury Daiquiri | 3 Minute Cocktail Education

Today we’re going to create an 8:2:1 rum Daiquiri using the methodology David Embury set for in his book (affiliate link) https://amzn.to/3xI49N5 – Today we learn what a daiquiri in 1948 would have tasted like! Get more videos like this at http://awesomedrinks.com/3

The Daiquiri
2 oz light rum
1/2 oz fresh lime juice
1/4 oz simple syrup

Standard Sour Mix for a straight up normal daiquiri https://awesomedrinks.com/products/real-sour-mix-cocktail-mixer-by-royal-rose/

David Embury wrote a book about cocktails, it was highly opinionated, highly specific, and has some valid points. However, an 8:2:1 cocktail is no joke, you’re going to find a very spirit forward flavor with barely enough sugar to taste; this can be hard for new drinkers to handle unless they are into potent drinks with potential bitter bites.
