Rum Julep & Demerara Rum | Tiki Month

Today we are going to show you how to make a rum julep, it’s absolutely nothing like a standard julep except for the cup — but it does have rum, so that’s nice.

The rum julep is best built in at least 4 serving increments, as that would make it super friendly to build. If, of course, you have pimento (allspice) liqueur (dram). The rum julep is complicated to build because of the small increments and the use of allspice liqueur (which isn’t a household staple for many folks).

However, if you happen to have allspice dram as well as a demerara rum (of your choice) and a jamaican rum (we used appleton), then give it a try and tell us what you think in the comments.

Rum Julep
1/2 oz Fresh Lime Juice
1/2 oz Orange Juice
1/2 oz Honey Mix
1/2 oz Appleton Jamaican Rum
1 1/2 oz Demerara Rum
1/4 oz Grenadine
1/4 oz Pimento Liqueur
Dash of Angostura Bitters
