How To Make The Velvet Hammer / Vodka Drink

Today we’re going to show you how to make the velvet hammer, this is a cream-based cocktail and some of our hosts are skeptical.

If you’re into lighter cocktails that are cream-based, this might be a worthy tasting experience. Dan’s not a huge fan, although he likes white russians. If you’re a white russian fan you may or may not love this experience — it’s just not that strong by comparison of a white russian and is missing the deeper coffee-flavor.

The Velvet hammer is definitely more sweet, and it has the orange notes with the cream which may turn some folks off (or turn others one). We were definitely split on the Velvet Hammer cocktail recipe, maybe not a drink for everyone?

The Velvet Hammer
– 1 oz vodka
– 3/4 oz Triple Sec / Cointreau
– 3/4 oz Creme de Cacao
– 3/4 oz Half-and-Half
– 3/4 oz 2% Milk
– 1/4 oz Grenadine
– Grated Nutmeg

The vodka in this cocktail is much lost, but that’s usually how vodka rolls in a drink. But, if you’re a big vodka drink fan and don’t mind milk and such, it’s worth trying it out. Leave your feelings below in the comments.
