The first time we did the Monte Carlo was in 2013: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8i-ZBnLZrW0

The Monte Carlo, in my opinion, is a better drink than the Manhattan. Sure, plenty of love for the Manhattan, I get it, but the Monte Carlo is great for those that don’t want a fortified wine in their spirit but still allow the spirit to shine free.

In this case, a Rye Whiskey with just enough Benedictine to bring some sweeter honey notes to compliment the powerful properties of a Rye Whiskey. With just a hint of spicy notes probably from the Rye and Angostura. Well balanced, but yet just a bit sweeter and tighter than the traditional manhattan.

So good we’ve added this to our online recipe database for those to discover on their own: https://recipe.awesomedrinks.com/recipe/monte-carlo/

Monte Carlo
– 2 oz rye whiskey
– 1/2 oz Benedictine
– 1 dash Angostura bitters

A three part cocktail, super simple super tasty.
