This classic beverage falls into the fizz category, fizzes were documented in 1887 by Jerry Thomas. However, Jerry created a general fizz category. The Sloe Gin product is still over 100 years old so combined the concept of a Sloe Gin Fizz is older than your oldest grandmother.

The Sloe Gin Fizz
– 1 ½ oz. sloe gin
– ¾ oz. fresh lemon juice
– 1/4 oz. simple syrup
– 2-3 oz Club soda
– 1 fresh egg white (optional, but mandatory)

This drink brings tart berry from the sloe berry in the sloe gin yet an off-dry flavor from the use of egg white and remains acidic and refreshing thanks to the sour portions of the drink.

This drink isn’t too sweet, only a quarter ounce of simple syrup, yet it’s probably needed as sloe gin is medicinal and tart. Great brown sugar notes in the sloe gin fizz as well, a crafty fun drink recipe to make at home or order at the bar.
