Tasting Notes: Gin aroma but not too much gin in the flavor. Light refreshing sweet spices, muted citrus, with southern comfort and spiced rum flavors in the mid-palate, dry finish and overall nicely carbonated. Lots of spice-like flavors with some dryness, definite impact on your palate.
A sexy carbonated cocktail creation to start the week. This recipe uses the sodastream for our citrus soda and did it live on the set. While the lightness of the soda does make this an easy to sip cocktail it doesn’t really ring “summer time” because it’s just got too much complex flavors that arrive with a bit of a dry finish. I think more ‘sour’ for summer with nice citrus notes where the citrus within this cocktail is very muted compared to the flavors of the spiced rum and southern comfort which definitely go for center stage.
Pink? Well, in bright light it gives off a pink color but in darker areas it’s more of an orange. Perhaps more grenadine for more pink/red profile.
Recipe:
- 1/2 oz. Grand Marnier
- 1/2 oz. Southern Comfort
- 1/2 oz. Spiced Rum
- 1/2 oz. Bombay Sapphire Gin
- 3-4 Dashes of Grenadine
- Top with Lemon-Lime Soda
