A slightly unique caipirinha that goes beyond the basic flavors found in the cachaça recipe. We’re tasting it against Boca Loca, Cachaca 51 and Leblon. The recipe we’re using for the Blackberry Caipirinha looks something like:
- 2 oz. Leblon Cachaça
- 6 Blackberries
- 1/4 Lime
- 1 tsp Superfine sugar or ½ oz Simple Syrup
- Glass-Rocks
Cut the lime into two wedges. Muddle the lime, blackberries and sugar in a shaker. Fill the shaker with ice and add Leblon Cachaça. Shake vigorously. Serve in a rocks glass. Garnish with a blackberry.

July 23, 2010 at 10:05 pmInteresting choice of blackberries with cachaça. I have used creme de cassis as a mixer at times, but up until now have not used blackberries. Thanks for the tip, and if you run across Espirito de Minas, it is a good value and great taste.
