This is the conclusion of the harvest season here in the United States and we all, traditionally, get together to thank our makers for the food that has been given to us by the earthy fields. It is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November here in the US.
“Our national holiday really stems from the feast held in the autumn of 1621 by the Pilgrims and the Wampanoag to celebrate the colony’s first successful harvest.” (scholastic.com)
Today, we’ve gt a great excuse to drink wine, sip some brandy or relax with a cold beer, why not take advantage of it? Not in the United States? Drink one for us!
There are many ideas of what pairs well with a big o’l turkey during the thanksgiving celebration so we’re not going to try to tell you to drink a lager, or oktoberfest beer nor what red is paired best with your white or dark meat. We’re just everyday drinkers that are ready to sit down and watch the Dallas football game with friends and enjoy our most favorite beverage.
Personally, I’ll probably cuddle up with a few bottles of Löwenbräu after a couple glasses of merlot because that’s how I roll.
No matter what you prefer, make it a Happy Thanksgiving. Cheers!
