How To Make The Toxic Lime Cocktail

Tasting Notes: Initial sip leads your mouth on a super sour ride. Great citrus flavors and a mild rum finish; mild alcohol finish.

May the forth be with you! Today, we’re busting out the Toxic Lime cocktail, this is a surprisingly tasty little sour recipe. This recipe brings the lime and overall citrus attack like a bomb of lime exploding in your mouth. The next few sips are not as striking once your face gets used to the sour attack, but it remains fairly sour all the way through. The beauty is, this isn’t just a sour drink to be sour but a drink with great citrus explosions that’s got great acidity, nice body and maintains the spirit of rum in the tail end.

 Recipe:

  • 2 oz. Citrus Rum
  • 1 oz. Simple Syrup
  • 1 oz. Lime Juice
  • Fill with Lemon/Lime Soda
  • Dash of Midori
  • Dash of Blue Curacao

    I’m liking the lime theme. It’s one of my favorite flavors to put in a cocktail.

    Qotd: I am very poor right now and I probably spend the most when I buy Scotch even though it’s not high end. I would say I spend about $30 on a bottle of Scotch, sometimes $40. Everything else is in the $20 or less per a bottle range. And truth be told, you learn so much by having that limit and having to research and taste enough stuff to find those hidden gems so I don’t mind too much.
