Today we’re going to show you had to make the luau cocktail, which would fall into the tiki category for cocktails. It has juice, it has rum and it has kick…what else do you need to create a tiki drink? Oh, the name…that’s right. The Luau.

The concept of the luau is fairly straight forward: passion fruit with a bunch of rum to hide some potency. However, that passion fruit also contains a tangy bite and a bit of sweetness from the almond syrup (orgeat) with a lime balanced acidity. This tiki drink has all the makings of a crazy creation with passion fruit, our only suggestion is picking a less rich overproof rum unless you really love the taste.
The Luau Cocktail
– ¾ oz White Rum
– ¾ oz Aged Rum
– ¾ oz Overproof Rum
– ½ oz Fresh Lime Juice
– ¾ oz Passion Fruit Syrup
– ¼ oz Orgeat syrup
– 1 dash Aromatic Bitters
