This probably falls into the bitter cocktail category but only by a little — it’s not got a whole lot of sweet, but it’s also not hugely bitter. The bitterness is subtle with a loving citrus finish. We want to say it’s got more “coffee” flavor, but that might not be the truth, it’s just got richer non-sweet flavor profiles and the citrus is a fun play.

This is definitely a take on a sour with a bit of fun with amaros — good times.

Jeez Louis
– 1 1⁄2 oz Averna amaro
– 1⁄2 oz Cynar
– 3⁄4 oz Cointreau
– 3⁄4 oz Fresh lime juice
– Soda water, to top
