How To Make The Cariño Cocktail | 2018 Bacardi Legacy Competition Cocktail

Today we’re going to show you how to make the cariño cocktail, which was a winner in the 2018 Bacardi Legacy Competition (Netherlands). It’s one of the only cocktails we’ve seen that uses Greek Yogurt!

This recipe was sent to us directly by Eric van Beek, Head Bartender
Hotel TwentySeven as his cocktail contest entry that won in his region. Now, Eric is onto the global competition that brings all the country winner cocktails together. Wish him the best!

In order to make this true to form, we did the entire thing in ML instead of ounces because it wasn’t an easy conversion due to odd ratios in ounces that were very difficult to measure accurately. Yay to the poor design of the ounce.

The Cariño Cocktail
– 50ml Bacardi 8 Anos
– 30ml greek yoghurt 5% fat (2 heaping barspoons)
– 20ml vanilla syrup
– 10ml lemon juice
– 5ml yellow chartreuse
– nutmeg garnish

Yep, the one thing that makes this special (and delicious) is the use of Greek Yogurt. The tart and off-dry flavor along with some of the other components make this drink a winner in our mouth. Maybe the world?
