How To Make The 5th & Adams Cocktail / Mezcal Drink

Today we’re going to make the 5th & Adams cocktail which is a mezcal drink that uses peychaud’s bitters. This is a nice spring time “near summer” approach to a fun and simple drink design. Super flavorful and ready to drink!

The 5th & Adams Cocktail is a shining example of a well crafted mezcal drink that doesn’t have to be a margarita variation. This cocktail moves in an entirely different direction with the use of pineapple juice and lemon juice as the sweet/sour components and the light touch of ginger syrup is appealing.

I believe you can get away with a dash of Ginger liqueur (like Canton) and regular simple syrup if you don’t want to go through the effort of buying and pealing ginger. In any case, this is a beautiful introduction to spring!

5th & Adams
– 1½ oz. Mezcal
– 1 oz. Pineapple juice
– ¾ oz. Ginger syrup
– ½ oz. Fresh lemon juice
– 2 dashes. Peychaud’s bitters
– Garnish: pineapple spear
