Senior Curaçao of Curaçao Review

Tasting Notes: Smooth mouthfeel with a sweet citrus flavor not too unlike that of a lemon-lime soda with a zesty orange peel bite. The sweet flavors are not overdone and compliment the smooth medium-body mouthfeel with an overall natural citrus orange “peel” finish.

Orange liqueur taken to a new level, the zesty flavors of Senior Curacao blows away all mid-priced orange liqueur and competes right up there with the more expensive brands. The beauty of this curacao over many other brands is the natural “bite” you get from the essences within this spirit. More in tune with the real Laraha fruit, the bitterness exhibited from Senior Curacao’s Curacao brings you closer to the heritage of the Curaçao island.

When I try other curacao brands I get a super sweet orange liqueur that reminds me of a blue version of a $9 triple sec. When I taste Senior Curaçao of Curaçao I taste an intellectual orange liqueur that brings sweet orange citrus with a pith and peel bite. This is a product that mingles in a cocktail well and shows itself through the flavors of a multi-spirit cocktail recipe.

Senior Curaçao of Curaçao doesn’t just bring blue to a cocktail, it brings flavor. For USD $25-29 this product stands up to its price and makes you wonder if you really must spend more for the higher priced brands.

This is the first time I see someone drinking blue curaçao in a brandy snifter 😉 I never had a great curaçao, but in my location I get Cointreau or Grand Marnier, ans some blue coloring stuff for 25-29$. I’d be a bit afraid of spending 25$ for blue curaçao, but maybe I’m wrong 🙂
Also, do you think some curaçaos are more blue than another ?

So you’d be willing to buy a bottle of Cointreau or Grand Mariner for $30 but not a bottle of blue curacao for $25-29? If so, then the other cheap orange liqueur brands have done more damage to the reputation than I thought! Because I thought the same thing when I was interviewing the fine folks of Preiss Imports… I was like “what do you mean you sell a bottle of blue curacao for $25 when I can get one for $10” and they said something like, “ah, but this is actual blue curacao.”

My next purchase also comes from their stable, Luxardo “Triplum” Triple Sec Orange Liqueur. You ever spend $25 on triple sec? What if I said this one was real too? The difference is the taste baby! Quality over quantity any day of the week!

In my area, Cointreau and Grand Marnier are really popular ( we’re even using Grand Marnier Cordon rouge for cooking ), and I once made a Margarita with a 3$ triple sec so I know there’s a huge difference between those products.
I tried 3 brands of blue curaçao, all tasted the same and were like 7-10$. Blue curaçao have a reputation of cheap stuff, used only to bring a blue or green color to your drink. I’d really like to taste your Senior Curaçao of Curaçao, but isn’t it better to spend 25$ on rum, or gin, or something you know its great when you’re on a budget ?
However, I won’t see blue curaçao the same way 😉

    Hi there,
Just saw this review once again, and checked the web for getting senior Curaçao in Germany and find an article that senior Curaçao could not be ordered in hole Europe!
But i fund a Blue Curaçao which could be tasting nearly the same like you discripe the senior.
It is the Blue Curaçao from Zuidam. Poorly they don’t have the clear or orange one, but it is a start!
So for all guys from Germany which could not get there hands in senior Curaçao (like me 🙁 ) check out the Blue Curaçao from Zuidam

I wonder who first decided to make blue curaçao blue?

Did you by any chance get Senior Curaçao as a sponsor?

Nope, I can barely get them to remember they sent me an e-mail, let alone sponsor. 🙂

Haha, that’s a shame. Always good to have a bottle of BC around…Blue Hawaiians…mmm-mmm.

By the way, do you know where I could get those tester bottles of Sparkle Donkey? We don’t have any here (as far as I can find) and wanted to try it.

Still waiting for an online store that will carry it, they’re all pending approval and such with the company (since it’s so new).

May I ask then how you acquired them? Did you basically just find the company say: “Hey, I’m D-Sizzle and this is my show, I’m totally ballin’ and got mad stacks of fans, throw me a couple freebies?”…or something to that effect? 😉

Also, there’s a few older videos (09 and such) that no longer have the videos attached, any possibility of getting that rectified? Specifically Zeli, Meloncoli and Lava Flow. 😉

Not to be biased that they are my drinks or anything (well, the last one was my idea for you to make but I didn’t invent it)
