10 Cane Mojito Kit Review

Cuba is the birthplace of the Mojito. Some would argue the Mojito is one of the most popular highball drinks in the world. In any case, it’s a very nice summertime drink but can be enjoyed year round in the comfort of your own home. You can make them by hand or, as a true everyday drinker, you can use a kit.

10 Cane Rum has released their Cocktail Collection Mojito Kit and it has most of the essentials to making the perfect mojito. It arrives, in box, with a 32 fluid oz. bottle of Stirrings Simple Mojito mix and a 750ml bottle of 10 Cane Rum made from first-press Trinidadian sugar cane juice.

You’ll want to pickup a lime, a bottle of club soda and a few sprigs of mint to complete the needs for their recipe. Once you’ve got your ingredients you’ll want to mix them:

Glass with a generous amount of ice
2 oz of 10 Cane Rum
4 oz of Stirrings Simple Mojito
Stir Gently and top with Club Soda to lighten the drink (if desired)
Add lime wedge and sprig of mint to garnish

Now you’ve got yourself the fastest mojito with a great refreshing taste. The cocktail will have a slight hint of mint (prior to garnish) and a very fruity citrus flavor profile. With the club soda added, you’ll have a lightly carbonated well balanced drink reminiscent of a lemon/lime sprite.

The 10 Cane Rum plays an integral but very hidden part in this Mojito Kit. Although it adds the alcoholic kick it’s very subtle and hard to taste on the pallet and impossible to smell on the nose. Traditionally, the goal of the mint and lime along with the sugars of the mix are to hide that of the rum flavor. However, 10 Cane Rum is a very clean and crisp rum with no offending tastes, which makes this kit very palatable to new drinkers or those that aren’t huge fans of intense alcoholic beverages.

The club soda is optional in this recipe but I highly suggest it as the carbonation will make the drink resemble many Mojito recipes and give the beverage a lighter easier tone, perfect for relaxation. At USD $35 this kit has all you’ll need for a festive party requiring very little additional ingredients.

The last major step listed on the back of the recipe within the kit is one that you’ll want to execute prior to drinking this tasty little relaxing cocktail: remove shoes.

Relax! It’s Mojito Time!
